MSSL delivers services in every district of Sierra Leone through its Outreach, Public Sector Strengthening (PSS), Centres, Contact Centre and Social Marketing Channels.

 

THE ROLE/FUNCTION

The Centre Operations Lead plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across MSSL centres. Reporting to the Commercial & Marketing Director, the role is responsible for managing daily operations, overseeing performance management, ensuring compliance, and supporting quality service delivery in collaboration with clinical and support teams. The position requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Centre Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operational management of all centres, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Drive operational efficiency and compliance with organizational policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all centres.
  • Ensure that all operational challenges are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.

Financial Oversight

  • Monitor revenue generation, cost control, and financial performance of each centre.
  • Track and report on revenue targets, client volumes, and service costs.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to support budgeting and financial forecasting.

Inventory & Asset Control

  • Supervise inventory management systems and processes to ensure accuracy and avoid stockouts.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory and Asset Coordinator for timely procurement and distribution of supplies.

Quality and Compliance

  • Work with the Clinical Quality Compliance Lead to conduct routine assessments and ensure clinical and operational standards are met.
  • Lead efforts in maintaining compliance with MSI and national regulations.

Data and Performance Monitoring

  • Oversee data collection, dashboard reporting, and performance monitoring across centres.
  • Analyse trends to inform strategic decisions and improvement plans.

Human Resource Management

  • Supervise and support Centre Clinical Leads and Administrative Officers in staff performance and development.
  • Collaborate with HR to support recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Marketing, IT, Procurement, Contact Centre, and other departments to enhance service delivery.
  • Foster partnerships that improve access to and quality of services.

Innovation and Change Management

  • Champion innovation in service delivery and adoption of new technologies.
  • Lead and support the implementation of change initiatives across centres.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations or healthcare management (essential).
  • Experience managing multi-site service delivery or clinic operations (desirable).
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance (essential).
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making and performance tracking (essential).
  • Prior experience in INGO or private health sector operations (desirable).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field (essential).
  • Master’s degree in Management or related field (desirable).
  • Training in quality assurance, health systems strengthening, or operational management (desirable).
